The Liberal Leader of Canada extends warmest Pongal wishes to everyone celebrating the Tamil Thanksgiving

On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and  Parliamentary Caucus, the Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff  extends their warmest Pongal wishes to everyone celebrating the Tamil Thanksgiving.

“Today as Tamils mark Thai Pongal, festival celebrations across the country will provide all Canadians with an opportunity to come together and recognize the tremendous contributions Tamil Canadians make in our communities.  

“The strong sense of enterprise and the deep commitment to the achievement of excellence in virtually every field of endeavor has distinguished the Tamil presence in Canada for over three generations. Thai Pongal festivities represent just one of the many ways Tamil culture and traditions enrich and enliven Canada’s cultural diversity," The Liberal Leader said.
