Sri Lanka - DPU Attack Kills 3 Civilian including a 12 year old Boy in Paranthan

Killinochchi - Three civilians were killed including a 12 year old boy and two other civilians were wounded in a roadside bomb attack planted and detonated by the Sri Lanka’s deep penetration unit (DPU) in the Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam (LTTE) controlled area of at Channasip-Paranthan, 5 km north of Pulliyangkullam on Pulliyangkullam Nedungkeanni Road Tuesday morning around 8:45, according to the sources mil Eelam Police sources in Vanni.

 

Medical authorities in Mullaiththeevu identified the victims as 12-year-old Marumenthirarasa Naguleswaran, his father Marumenthirarasa, 53 and Karunakaran, 34. The seriously injured were Pushpa Marumenthirarasa, 48 and the driver of the vehicle Murukan. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the attack.

 

The Sri Lankan government Deep Penetration Unit (DPU) known to have infiltrated into many times in the LTTE controlled areas and carried out ambush attacks on civilians including scores of children, elected officials, religious leaders, journalists and aid workers a local aid worker told TNS in Vanni.
