Information Technology Engineers and Students in TN Urges Center to Stop the War in Sri Lanka

Chennai - Hundreds of Information Technology Engineers and Students in Tamil Nadu (TN)gathered at the Tidel Park between 4:00 to 5:00 pm today in Chennai to protest the killings of Eelam Tamils in Sri Lanka and urged Indian Central government to not to provide arms to Sri Lanka to kill Eelam Tamils.

 

Prominent Tamil Nadu movie stars, Suriya, his brother Karthic, many other actors and actresses took part in the awareness campaign. Participants of the awareness campaign seen wearing T shirts with slogans “Stop the War in Sri Lanka” and formed human chain.

 

 

Some of the T shirts worn by the participants said, "Guns do not have Hearts", "please Stop the War"
 

Tamil Nadu boiling over the plights of Eelam Tamils for past few weeks agitating in Tamil Nadu and Delhi to intervene in Sri Lanka to save the Tamils from Genocides.Many concerned parties and organizations launched famine protests, rallies and protest march in support of Eelam Tamils.

 

 

Meanwhile, the TN Chief Minister, Kalaingar Karunanithi, said he will be satisfied only with the Cease Fire in Sri Lanka as various forums in Tamil Nadu passed many resolutions on the issue. Center should do everything possible within its power to bring about the Cease Fire in Sri Lanka.

 

“A ceasefire has been a major demand in the resolutions that we have passed at various fora including the Assembly. We will not be satisfied till a ceasefire is in place,” he said.
